HOW IT WORKS
Unsupported bundles are presented to the low level unsupported bundle palletizer at a conveyor height equal or close to the conveyors upstream of the palletizer. Bundles are arranged on a transfer plate arranging them in a predetermined format which configures layers. Each time a layer is completed the transfer plate elevates to a position even with the proceeding layer of bundles. Once the plate is at the proper height, layers are transferred in position on top of the previous layer. A slip sheet is normally inserted between each layer. Each layer of bundles alternate formats (every other layer), so that they interlock the multiple layers in order to generate a stable finished pallet. After all layers are placed to complete a pallet, it is discharged using pallet conveyor normally to the infeed of an automatic pallet wrapper.
Low Level Unsupported Bundle Palletizers are an alternative to their high level counterparts, and are normally designed for low to mid speed operation. Low level unsupported bundle palletizers normally have a smaller footprint, and alleviate the need to elevate bundles prior to infeed. These also eliminate the need for expansive platforms. The cost of a Low-Level Unsupported Bundle Palletizer is generally lower than that of a High-Level Unsupported Bundle Palletizer.
