HOW IT WORKS
A side load or bottom load Tray Packer forms a case such that the open side of the case is presented horizontally or in an inverted configuration. Products are prearranged into their pattern which in most cases involves multiple layers. This is performed using a number of different types of collation systems. This pattern is then pushed into the open panel of the case either intermittently or in continuous motion depending on the machine design. These packers generally complex and somewhat dedicated to very common applications within the same machine.
Side load and bottom load Tray Packers are designed to case products that cannot be packed using conventional methods. In order to use a side load or bottom load Tray Packer the products to be cased must be able to be collated and controlled as a pack pattern prior to loading the case. Collation systems vary greatly depending on product type and machine design. Side load and bottom load Tray Packers are commonly used for products such as bottles, cartons, pouches and other packages that lend themselves to this style of casing product.
