HOW IT WORKS
Bundled Trays are presented to the low level tray palletizer at a conveyor height equal or close to the conveyors upstream of the palletizer. Bundled Trays are arranged on a transfer plate arranging them in a predetermined format which configures tray layers. Each time a layer is completed the transfer plate elevates to a position even with the proceeding layer of trays. Once the plate is at the proper height, layers are transferred in position on top of the previous layer. A slip sheet is normally inserted between each layer. Each layer of trays alternate formats (every other layer), so that they interlock the multiple layers in order to generate a stable finished pallet. After all layers are placed to complete a pallet, it is discharged using pallet conveyor normally to the infeed of an automatic pallet wrapper.
Low-Level Tray palletizers are an alternative to their high level counterparts, and are normally designed for low to mid speed operation. Low level tray palletizers normally have a smaller footprint, and alleviate the need to elevate trays prior to infeed. These also eliminate the need for expansive platforms. The cost of a Low-Level Tray Palletizer is generally lower than that of a High-Level Tray Palletizer.
